AKA "my favorite tool"!
***The edges of these pliers are quite sharp - before I ship them, I smooth and file down the edges to prevent cutting and maring the wire***
These forming pliers have one concave and one round jaw; they are ideal for bending ring shanks, shaping earring wires and constructing intricate and precise fabrications from sheet and metal. Forming pliers have a variety of jaw configurations designed to maximize the ability to bend, shape or form wire, strip and sheet. The jaws of these pliers nest together along their length, so that they form both the inside and the outside of the curve at the same time. As you shape the wire around the round jaw, the concave jaw confirms the curve. The round tip measures .9mm; the concave tip measures 1.25mm. This tool is forged from tool steel, machined and hardened, then hand-polished; forging offers the best combination of strength and durability.
• The lap joint is strong and precisely aligned. In a lap joint, one half of the joint overlaps the other, and a pivot is set through both halves.
• The double-leaf spring consists of flat, tempered metal tabs attached to the inside of each handle, positioned to meet and hold the handles apart (and the jaws open) until they are squeezed closed.
• The plastic-dipped handles help ensure a secure grip and user comfort over extended use.
