PRECIOUS METAL CLAY - any skill level
Metal clay is a unique medium to work with. The material is 99.9% fine silver ground to a powder, then binders of water and paper are added to create a clay that you can use rubber stamps, texture plates, and any other tool used for clay. Once it has dried, it is fired in a kiln at 1600 degrees. The binders burn away and the silver fuses into the texture and shape created. After it is fired, it is then polished to a high shine and the final piece is 99.9% fine silver.

Students will get approximately 24 grams of metal clay to make as many pieces as it will allow. This class is primarily focused on earrings - but students can create matching pendant and earring sets. Most students can bet 4-6 pairs of earrings. Students class time will focus on design and prepping for firing. Firing, polish and assembly will be done in my studio and students will pick up their final pieces at a later date.

All tools, stamps, textures, equipment will be provided.

Class time will be approximately 2 hours.
